PRP and PRF are offered at many Korean dermatology clinics, often for less than in Western cities. Here's what to expect, from cost to recovery. New to these treatments? Start with Part 1: what PRP and PRF are.
How much does it cost in Korea?
- PRP facial (one session): about ₩250,000–₩450,000 at clinics that serve international patients. Korean booking apps list basic PRP skin treatments from around ₩100,000–₩300,000.
- PRP with microneedling: about ₩400,000–₩700,000.
- PRF for the under-eye area: about ₩200,000–₩500,000 per session.
- PRP combined with laser or exosomes: from about ₩600,000.
- 3-session packages: about ₩1,000,000–₩1,800,000.
- PRP for thinning hair: about ₩300,000–₩500,000 per session, or ₩900,000–₩2,000,000 for a package of 3–5 sessions.
Prices depend on the kit, the area and any add-ons. Very cheap deals on booking apps may cover a smaller area or a single basic session, so check what's included. Ask whether a quote includes 10% VAT: Korea's VAT refund for foreign patients on cosmetic procedures ended on 31 December 2025.
What happens at the clinic
- Consultation — the doctor checks your skin and confirms PRP or PRF suits you.
- Blood draw — a small amount, like a routine blood test.
- Centrifuge — your blood is spun for about 10–15 minutes.
- Treatment — injections, or microneedling with the PRP, usually after numbing cream.
Plan for about 45–60 minutes in total.
How many sessions?
- Korean clinics usually suggest 3–5 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart. Some recommend 2–3.
- Changes appear gradually from about 2–4 weeks and are often best at around 3 months.
- Many people return for maintenance every 6–12 months.
Only in Korea once? A single session is still common — ask the clinic what to expect from one treatment.
Downtime and aftercare
- Redness and mild swelling usually settle within 1–3 days. Small bruises are possible, especially under the eyes.
- After microneedling, skip makeup for about 48 hours.
- Avoid saunas, alcohol, smoking and hard workouts for at least a few days. Some clinics advise a full week.
- Use sunscreen and gentle skincare.
Check with your doctor first if…
- You have a blood or platelet disorder.
- You take blood thinners, including aspirin.
- You have active inflammation or infection in the treatment area.
Trip tips
- Book it early in your trip so any redness settles before you fly home.
- Microneedling combos have the most visible downtime; plain injections the least.
- Ask which kit the clinic uses and whether a doctor performs the treatment.
